For nearly 100 years, unidentified remains in San Bernardino County California have been buried in one of the county’s many cemeteries. During the 2015 field season, students will learn the fundamentals of forensic archaeology and forensic anthropology by exhuming these individuals and assisting in the collection of samples for DNA extraction. Students will excavate burials in forensic contexts, perform preliminary analysis of the remains and help collect remains to send for further laboratory analysis before documenting and reburying the remains. For more information visit the field school website.
Connecticut College will award each student 8 semester credit units (12 quarter units). Tuition includes credit units, and room and board.
