Tetra Tech is seeking a part-time/seasonal, junior-level Archaeologist/Environmental Scientist to work out of our Bloomington, MN office.
Responsibilities will include: desktop reviews of historical site data, data retrieval from State Historic Preservation Offices, conducting fieldwork as part of a team or individually, report preparation, and project administration assistance.
The selected candidate will have 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.  Must have demonstrated ability to successfully support complex and time sensitive projects, manage multiple tasks at one time, and resolve issues in a timely manner.  Must also have experience writing technical papers or reports.  The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communications skills, and be a strong team player.  Have experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with maps and being able to navigate with maps and/or GPS. Must be able to manage time well and work on tasks as part of a larger project team.  Must be able to drive and pass a motor vehicle records check.  Must have a BS or BA in anthropology or archaeology. 
Candidate must be able to walk around project sites and must be physically able to carry equipment such as maps, shovels, screens, GPS unit, and cameras during field work.  Field activities take place in a variety of weather conditions, and can occur in remote locations and include areas of uneven terrain.  Must be able to conduct shovel tests independently. The work environment will consist of a mix of office and field work, with some field work requiring overnight stays.
