JOB SUMMARY:
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
About the Position:
You will function as a Senior Archeologist in the Environmental Analysis Section, Planning Branch, Planning Programs and Project Management Division, Huntington District Corps of Engineers, conducting pre and post-authorization studies for water resources development projects, including local flood protection projects, multipurpose reservoir projects, lock and dam projects, and waterway channel improvements.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) expenses may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations.

Ensure compliance with Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Archeological Resources Protection Act, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and other related laws and pertinent regulations.
Help ensure compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
Evaluate the impact of proposed projects and actions on environmental resources.
Prepare scopes, budgets, schedules for, and oversee execution of, cultural resource work, including identification, evaluation and mitigation efforts.
Develop consulting contracts to include scope of work and cost estimates and assist in negotiating the contract price.
Review completed cultural resource and environmental studies for technical quality and accuracy.
Represent and communicate environmental and cultural resource issues within the organization.
Conduct consultation with the public, stakeholders, resource agencies and tribal nations concerning cultural resource issues.
Write and document findings of performed work and studies in both technically accurate and publicly accessible formats.
