This field school is ideal for anyone interested in a career in archaeology and cultural resource management.

Attendance is open to both undergraduate and graduate students studying anthropology, archaeology, history, museum studies, artifact conservation, geology, and environmental sciences.  Through this program, students will gain valuable field experience, mentorship, and career development that will translate directly into the workplace.

Students are required to participate on site from 8am – 4pm, Monday through Friday.  Excavation will include shovel test pits (STP) and hand-troweled excavation units (EU).  Students will learn and participate in excavation documentation, mapping, and artifact processing.  Fridays and rain days will be spent in the lab cleaning and documenting recovered artifacts.  Students are required to attend Wednesday evening classroom sessions from 6-8.30pm.  These sessions will augment the fieldwork and provide additional instruction.  Social events are also planned throughout the program.

The cost of the field school is $2067.95 for 4 weeks.  Housing is available at an additional charge for students attending from outside of the local area.  Please contact the field school director if you will require housing.
