Field Technician, Georgia, South East, Willing to Relocate

Jonathan C Williamson

I have been working a diverse range of unrelated jobs the last few years but I would like very much to get back to doing archaeology. I abandoned the field for a while to pursue other options and more money. I am more certain than ever that I want to get more experience as a Field Technician and then continue my education in archaeology afterwards.

Business Experience

Car Buying Consumer Advocate

Most recently, I have been attempting to startup a new business. I have been advertising to help private individuals in their car buying experience. When I worked in automotive sales, I all too frequently saw people pay too much for things they neither need nor could afford. I provide services including what I call a needs assessment, research, advice and I go into dealerships with the client and negotiate the deal for them. I have found that I am able to save customers thousands of dollars and provide peace of mind, while only charging hundreds and spending minimal time.

Georgia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Statesboro, GA (January 2017-June 2017)

Vaden Nissan, Statesboro, GA (July 2016- January 2017)

- Ranked 18th in the South Eastern Region by NCAR when I left Vaden Nissan Statesboro. (NCAR 90day is measured by total new Nissans sold in last 90 days from time of access.)

Orchid Asian Restaurant, Statesboro, GA (November 2013-July 2016 Non-Continuous)

-General Manager

-Orchid is a Japanese/Vietnamese fusion restaurant. I was the general manager before I quit and moved to New York City to pursue work in other fields. I supervised around a dozen employees at a time and was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant. I returned for a short time to help put the restaurant back on the right track after I returned to Georgia.

Publicis Groupe, New York, NY (April 2015-September 2015)

-Media Payables Analyst

-I worked for Publicis Group in the accounts payables department for five months.

I was responsible for maintaining an invoice database with millions of spot media entries per month for both television and radio. While working for Publicis, I spent most of my time each day communicating by email and phone with various Zenith Media buyers and local broadcast stations. I was responsible for all spot media bought by Zenith representatives for my clients in the continental United States.

-My most important clients were General Mills, Sonic, Scion and Georgia Pacific.

Forest Service Solutions, New York, NY (March to September 2015)

-FSS is a temporary agency. I worked dozens of positions through them after I relocated to New York. Publicis hired me through FSS. Before working for

Publicis, I worked as a document checker, bartender, server, elevator operator and had several other jobs.

Jalapeno’s Mexican Restaurant, Statesboro, GA (November 2013-February

- I worked here for three months as a second job. This was an opportunity to work in a primarily Spanish speaking environment and better develop my Spanish speaking abilities. I quit because I was promoted to manage Orchid Asian Restaurant.

Carey Hilliard’s Restaurant, Savannah, GA (September 2008-September 2012)

-I worked at Carey Hilliard’s almost the entire time that I attended Georgia Southern University. I slept at my mother’s house on the weekend to work here. I trained many, if not most of the front of the house staff the managers hired to work at the Highway 21 location. I have worked at every one of their locations and helped to open the Statesboro store. Carey Hilliard’s allowed me to develop excellent customer service skills.

Shonie’s, Statesboro, GA (May 2008-September 2008)

- I was hired as a server but the owner promoted me to floor manager in only six weeks, despite being one of the youngest employees.

Additional Experience

-In addition to the jobs described above, I have held numerous other short-term positions. I worked at McDonald’s in Rincon GA for eighteen months in high school and once again for six weeks in Statesboro GA. I was a shop hand at Savannah Tire and Rim for three months. I unloaded trucks by hand at the Wal-Mart distribution center in Statesboro through the temporary agency Snelling for several months. I had another temporary warehouse job in the foreign trade district in Port Wentworth GA for a few months. I worked as a cook at Applebee’s in Port Wentworth for four months. When I first moved to NYC I worked numerous temporary jobs as a bar tender and in various office positions including data entry and as a document analyst.
