Cultural Resources Technician - On-call

SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. Our Flagstaff, Arizona office is seeking a temporary Cultural Resource Technician to participate in field assignments on an On-call, as-needed basis. The work schedule can vary - sometimes up to 40 hours a week.

Participate in cultural resource surveying, archaeological excavation, and associated field or lab work, including but not limited to completion of field forms, digital photography, artifact identification, GPS data collection, mapping, artifact procesing, and data entry.



  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field, or equivalent job experience required
  • Previous archaeological survey, excavation, and artifact identification experience in Northern Arizona preferred
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team is required
  • Ability to use Trimble GPS and Android Tablets is preferred
  • Must currently reside in Flagstaff or in another northern Arizona community within a reasonable commuting distance to project locations, such as Prescott, Williams, Winslow, Sedona, Cottonwood, or Verde Valley
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in extreme heat or rugged terrain, and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, is required
