Archaeological Field Positions in Utah, Fall 2017


EcoPlan Associates, Inc., a natural and cultural resources consulting firm with headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, is again accepting applications for archaeological field positions for the Fall 2017 field season in Utah. The ideal applicant will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in anthropology and six months of experience in archaeological survey, prehistoric and historic-period site documentation, use of handheld GPS units for site mapping, and site form preparation. All applicants must be able to walk up to 12 miles per day in difficult terrain and extreme weather carrying a 20-pound pack. Some surveys will require overnight camping in remote locations. EcoPlan especially values a commitment to effective communication, teamwork, and quality in all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including mapping, note taking, and digital photography. Hourly wage will range from $15/hour to $19/hour, depending on experience and education; lodging and per diem will be paid. EcoPlan will give first consideration to residents of Utah with substantial Utah field experience.
