Local Field Techs Needed for On-going Data Recovery Minneapolis, MN

Merjent, Inc. & In Situ Archaeological Consulting are excited to announce seasonal employment opportunities on a
Phase III data recovery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Additional Field Technicians will be added to crews already onsite on or before Monday May 21, 2018 for 4-5 continuous weeks of work.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

· Schedule On: Monday – Friday; 10-hour days

· Schedule Off: Saturday; Sunday

· Hourly Position; Overtime paid for all hours worked over 40 within a calendar week

· Local Project: Per diem & Lodging Not Available

 

FIELD TECHNICIAN POSITION OVERVIEW   $16.00/HOUR

Under the supervision of the Field Lead(s), a Field Technician is responsible for performing common tasks associated with Phase III data recovery.

DUTIES

· Complete test unit and feature excavation

· Complete shovel testing

· Complete field-related paperwork

· May assist in technical site mapping, photography and artifact collection

EXPERIENCE

· Minimum of a Bachelors degree in archaeology, anthropology or related field

· Successful completion of an archaeological field school

· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar capacity conducting fieldwork

· Experience with historic archaeology or urban data recovery is a plus

 

REQUIRED DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING

This position requires job candidates (after a conditional offer of employment), employees, and sub-contractors to abide by our written Drug, Alcohol, and Contraband Policy which includes satisfactory test results of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

 

PREPLACEMENT PHYSICAL

Due to the physical requirements of this position job candidates will be asked to complete a preplacement physical. The results of this physical are a condition of employment. A physician of occupational medicine will review your health history including allergies, vital signs, and perform a physical exam in accordance with the job description to ensure your ability to perform the requirements of this job safely. Merjent/In Situ will cover the cost and will not receive any personal medical information or history from the physician.
