Permanent Staff Archaeologist need in Northern California (Bay Area)

Trileaf Corporation is a nationwide environmental, architectural, and engineering company with 13 regional offices. Trileaf Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time, permanent Staff Archaeologist in California. 

Applicants must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s (SOI) Professional Qualification Standards in Archaeology to be considered for this position.  This job requires the completion of Class I and Class III (Phase I) SHPO file reviews for above/below ground resources, Phase I surveys, and completion of cultural resources reports for telecommunications projects.  The ideal candidate will have previous telecom work experience and/or applied knowledge of NEPA compliance.

Applicant will have the ability to work in California, Oregon, and Washington.


Salary will be competitive and contingent upon experience. Trileaf's benefits include the following;

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes/experience:

     Master’s Degree in Archaeology (or related field)

     Meet the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualification Standards for archeology

     2+ years of experience in Cultural Resources Management field archaeology/paleontology

     Perform/analyze records searches and complete background research.

     Demonstrated experience and competency with crafting and fulfilling archaeological/paleontological mitigation measures

     Knowledge of federal and state laws that apply to archaeology and paleontology

     You’ll need to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and exceptional technical writing ability.

     Experience identifying and analyzing a wide variety of archaeological materials (e.g., lithic, faunal, shell) from prehistoric and historic sites in the field

     Experience preparing and submitting California site forms

     NEPA/Section 106 report writing

     Completion of aspects of environmental due diligence

     Excellent communication and organizational skills

     Creative problem-solving skills

     Adaptability and flexibility

     Ability to work remotely and independently

     Ability to meet strict deadlines

     A valid California driver’s license.

     Ability to travel throughout California
