Cultural Resources Monitor Needed, Riverside County, CA


Cogstone Resource Management Inc. seeks a California archaeologist to monitor an immediate short term project in Perris, Riverside County, California.

 Job Description

The archaeologist will provide monitoring services. Project tasks may include field surveys, excavations, field monitoring, laboratory processing, and possibly data analysis. Monitor will be cross trained in paleontology. Duration of project is anticipated as 25 consecutive 8-hour days however the project may be longer or shorter depending on project requirements.


·         BA in anthropology or archaeology

·         Two years of  experience is preferred and experience must be in California

·         Competency in field and laboratory work

·         Ability to travel and conduct field work for long hours, in possible inclement weather conditions and diverse terrain, and the ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds

·         Familiarity with cultural resource laws and regulations

·         Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and their own vehicle


Skill Requirements

·         Proficiency in using standard office software and equipment

·         Oral and written communication skills

·         Ability to work independently with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team

·         Self-motivated with strong initiative


Competitive pay rate is commensurate with education and experience.
