Take our class (ANTH F495)! 6 transferable University of Alaska Fairbanks credits.

Learn to excavate, identify, and interpret the past at the oldest site in Alaska! Students will gain experience using state of the art excavation techniques, including total station 3D photogrammetric mapping.  Be prepared for plenty of off-the-grid backwoods hiking and camping!

Topics will include: geoarchaeology, lithic analysis, ethnohistory, photogrammetry, ecology, and many more

Location: Shaw Creek Flats: Delta Junction, Alaska.

Periods of occupation:                 14,200 cal BP – 1930 AD

Field School Dates:                       May 13-June 15, 2019

Registration Opens:                     February 25, 2019

Application Deadline:                  April 1, 2019

6 academic credits

Cost: $3136.00 (includes Field Trip Fee: $1600, Upper Level Tuition: $1536, food, transportation, and lodging)

Students provide their own transportation to and from Fairbanks;

Transportation from Fairbanks to the site is provided by UAF
