Seeking Archaeobotany Field Work

My goal is to enter into a work environment that introduces me to excavation skills, artifact identification and handling, and proper storage techniques for collections. I recognize the interconnectedness between plants and people and I want to explore this occurrence, specifically as it relates to past African slaves here in America. Ultimately, I want to dive deeper into how plant use has influenced customs in the past and how it still creates variations in cultures across environmentally and socially diverse regions. I hope to gain proficiency in archeological field work and the preservation of natural historic resources.
