Archaeology Field School in Alaska!

Learn to excavate, identify, and interpret the past among the oldest sites in Alaska! Students will gain experience using state-of-the-art excavation techniques including total station 3D mapping. Be prepared for plenty of off-the-grid backwoods hiking and camping in the Shaw Creek region near Delta Junction, Alaska. The periods of occupation for these sites range from 14,200 cal BP to 1915 AD.

Topics we cover include methods in Ethnoarchaeology, Geoarchaeology, Ecological Archaeology, Lithic Analysis, and Zooarchaeology. Please refer to our field school website at
