Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking curriculum vitae from qualified candidates for a cultural resources Principal Investigator. This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position.
Candidates may have a specialty in historical, industrial, or prehistoric archaeology, or in architectural history. The successful candidate will be expected to manage cultural resources projects, communicate with clients and government agencies, prepare proposals, manage project budgets, and write compliance reports and other project deliverables. While the successful candidate may work from Broadbent’s Salt Lake City or Denver offices, they will actively collaborate with the cultural resources team in Reno. The candidate must demonstrate a mix of office and field skills, be prepared to develop a cultural resources client base, and lead intermittent fieldwork in Utah.
Broadbent is an engineering and environmental consulting company founded in 1987. With over 100 employees, Broadbent serves a range of clients from our 19 offices located primarily in the western United States. Broadbent’s cultural resources team currently includes professional full-time staff in our Reno office and one staff-level archaeologist in our Denver office. The cultural resources department is led by Ms. Margo Memmott out of the Reno office. Our cultural resources team is supported by an ArcGIS/Database Specialist, Broadbent’s administrative staff, and an additional network of temporary/seasonal field staff.
Minimum Requirements
• M.A. in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History, or a closely related field
• Qualify as a Principal Investigator Statewide in Utah and/or Colorado for federally issued Archaeological Resources Protection Act permits and State permits
• Training and experience implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
• At least five years of experience managing clients and projects
• Ability to perform both fieldwork activities and office tasks independently or with a team
• Demonstrated ability to produce reports, treatment plans, and other written communication deliverables to the standards defined by the involved federal agencies and State Historic Preservation Office guidance.
Compensation
Annual salary is between $52,000 and $70,720, commensurate with education, training, and experience.
