Summary
This position is located on the Ecological Sciences, state cultural resources staff. Incumbent provides assistance to field office personnel by conducting site surveys to determine impacts of NRCS sponsored projects on cultural resource sites.

Responsibilities
Conducts research in archaeological databases and other records systems to identify potential sites. Determines the location of major cultural resources in different environments and designs and implements methodologies to address such concerns.
Carries out investigations of proposed projects on state and private lands to meet NRCS policy in compliance with State and Federal law in regards to Cultural Resources.
Provides technical cultural resource sections of contracts, environmental documents, agreement documents and other instruments of agency intent in the State.
Prepares reports of findings and recommendations for NRCS and other agencies. Provides authoritative recommendations for treatment of cultural resources to field personnel.
Provides guidance and training on cultural resource issues to the field. Serves as agency liaison, as assigned, to other federal, state and local agencies involved with cultural resources issues.
