What We’re Looking For
HNTB is currently seeking archaeological field technicians, crew chiefs, and field directors with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology for several upcoming projects in the Southern United States. Duties will include performing field assignments under the direction of Principal Investigators. Field personnel may perform a range of archaeological fieldwork including survey, excavation, and monitoring.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Performs field assignments under direction of Principal Investigator
Assists in performing a range of archaeological fieldwork including survey, excavation, and monitoring
Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field with completion of an accredited field school
Experience with a range of Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and adverse field conditions
Able to navigate using a compass and topographic maps or handheld GPS units
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs
Candidates based in Georgia or surrounding states are preferred
Technicians should have at least one year of archaeological field experience in the southern United States
Crew chiefs should have at least two years of supervisory field experience in the southern United States
Field Directors should have at least ten years of supervisory field experience in the southern United States. Field Directors should also have excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and detail-oriented as well as previous experience writing technical reports for Section 106 compliance. Preference will be given to Field Directors who meet the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualification standards for archaeology
