About the Position: Serves as Planning Division’s recognized technical specialist in archeology, providing the Division with an authoritative source of information on all Albuquerque District’s planning studies. Plans or directs professional inventories and studies, providing in depth analysis of the latter. Develops cultural resources management or mitigation plans, and memoranda of agreement and understanding between state, tribal, and federal agencies.

Directs and conducts the full range of cultural resources studies necessary to identify and evaluate significant cultural resources,
Prepares a variety of formal and informal historical and archeological reports and coordination letters.
Prepares government estimates for use in contract negotiations and for budgeting funds for future studies.
Develops cultural resources preservation and mitigation plans, and alternatives in compliance with Federal directives.
Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.
