The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS), Prairie Research Institute (PRI), of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, seeks Archaeological Field Technicians to fill Academic Hourly field crew positions for large-scale Phase I, II, and III projects conducted out of our Central Illinois Field Station (https://www.isas.illinois.edu/about_isas/employment). These are full-time (40 hour/week), non-benefits-eligible, field/laboratory positions that may also involve some additional fieldwork, data processing, and specialized-analysis opportunities. Technicians will need to relocate to the Champaign, IL area. In-house training in ISAS methods is provided, and lodging and per diem are paid on out-of-town projects.
All positions will require extensive physical exertion, work in challenging Midwestern weather, the ability to follow instructions and take legible and informative notes. Technicians will work with ISAS supervisors under the direction of a Field Station Coordinator and will be hired based on the criteria below:
Field Technician II–$17.00/hour. BA or BS in Anthropology, History or related field, with one or more years of archaeological experience beyond a field school or its equivalent experience.

Production Specialist
ISAS Champaign Central Production Office
The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS), Prairie Research Institute (PRI), of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, seeks to fill an Academic Hourly, Production Specialist position (https://www.isas.illinois.edu/about_isas/employment) which will be stationed at the ISAS Champaign Central Production Office. This is a full-time (40 hour/week), non-benefits-eligible position with an hourly salary of $20.00/hour. The successful applicant will need to relocate to the Champaign, IL area.
Primary Position Function/Summary: Production Specialists serve in managing all aspects of the production databases and the distribution of ISAS publications, including fulfilling, mailing, and managing orders, maintaining product inventory, and managing publication-related databases as directed by the ISAS Production Manager.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Fulfill Amazon, wholesale, employee, and in-person publication orders and compliance-related distributions, both electronic and hard copies.
Prepare all sales invoices, sales receipt reporting, sales tax reporting, inventory, inventory reporting paperwork as required.
Reply to all customer emails within 24 hours per Amazon Seller requirements.
Accept and review all Amazon returns for refunds.
Upload new books to Amazon Seller for sales.
Use Creative Cloud InDesign (Invoices), Excel (associated paperwork), and Airtable (Inventory), Box and Dropbox for electronic distribution.
Organize all inventory storage and accounting; keep up-to-date inventory numbers.
Manage publications image database and request paperwork.

Manage production inventories on campus and at remote locations in Urbana and Rantoul.
Move 50 lb boxes.
Ship all Amazon orders and confirm shippinig within 48 hours per Amazon Seller requirements. Mail other ISAS packages as needed.
Occasional travel to sell publications at artifact shows, ISAS events, conferences, and other events. In-person sales requires packing supplies and inventory, setting up book table, selling publications, and reconciling all paperwork.

Assist with one-off figure production, scanning tasks, file management.
Keep track of outreach materials for staff, assist in producing more, and distro all materials as needed.
Publication/production support work as needed: file conversion, manuscript/file submission review of submitted materials.

These are full-time (40 hour/week), non-benefits-eligible, field/laboratory positions that may also involve some additional fieldwork, data processing, and specialized-analysis opportunities. Technicians will need to relocate to the St. Louis Metro east area. In-house training in ISAS methods is provided, and lodging and per diem are paid on out-of-town projects.
