Duties
Participates in cultural resource inventories to identify cultural, historic and/or paleontological resources to provide predictive information to be used in the Bureau’s planning system and for clearances of areas designated for development.
Prepares description of artifacts found.
Prepares documentation such as reports, maps, and photographs pertaining to the inventory.
Cultural resource monitoring to appraise current and potential adverse effects upon cultural resources.
Responsible for assembling all data in a logical sequence for review and use by professional cultural resources staff.
Updates automated databases.
Participate in site recordation and complete determinations of eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places.
Participate in the management of an archaeology collection, including, but not limited to, updating catalog information, collections research, taking collections photographs, and environmental monitoring.
Handles artifacts and associated records in the completion of collections work.
