Summary
As an Environmental Protection Specialist at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) you will serve as the NASA Subject Matter Expert in subsurface cultural resources, providing technical guidance to all NASA centers and headquarters as needed. You will also be responsible for the implementation and oversight of the KSC Cultural Resources Management (CRM) program in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and other laws, and regulations.

Duties
Serves as the Agency Subject Matter Expert in subsurface cultural resources, and provides technical guidance and support in identifying, evaluating, and managing archaeological resources to the other Centers and Headquarters as needed.
Executes the KSC CRM program in accordance with pertinent Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and NASA policy.
Serves as the primary point of contact for the management of KSC cultural resources, in accordance with applicable Federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
Plans and develops cultural resource program budget to meet short and long term goals as part of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
Carries out policy review and consultation on KSC undertakings. Develops and implements programmatic agreements and/or memoranda of agreements to streamline regulatory processes or mitigate activities with adverse effect to cultural resources.
Ensures policy compliance at KSC: Conducts or leads cultural resources assessment studies; prepares and reviews Scopes of Work (SOWs) for cultural resources surveys undertaken by others.
Establish and carry out tribal consultation in accordance with Executive Order 13175.
