This position is located within the Resource Management division of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area and will also provide support to the Obed Wild and Scenic River and the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. This position will work with an interdisciplinary team to meet objectives as defined by the supervising Archeologist. Major duties of the position will include:
Conduct field surveys, inputting information into a database, producing reports, and evaluating cultural resources as directed.
Conducting condition assessments of archeological resources, historic structures, and cultural landscapes and documenting necessary repairs or needed preservation actions.
Performing collection management duties as necessary, which may include cataloging, report preparation, and object preservation tasks.
Working alone in remote areas and acting dynamically in response to changing conditions.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
