Summary
This position is located in Glacier National Park, in the Division of Science and Resource Management.
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Glacier National Park is April through October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 2021

Responsibilities
This position performs a full range of complex archeological support functions including site condition assessments, preservation treatments, site excavation and survey. Technical guidance is provide by a specialist. Major duties include:
Prepare documentation for National Historic Preservation Act compliance such as site forms, small project reports, and cultural resources information system documents.
Track project assignments for initiation and completion.
Work with GIS software, variety of GPS field collection equipment and software and manipulation of data to produce accurate maps of sites and inventory survey.
Work in frontcountry and backcountry wilderness setting, in a variety of weather conditions; backpacking to remote field locations may require up to 10 nights of overnight travel monthly.
Ability to carry up to 50 pounds and hike a minimum of 10 miles in mountainous terrain and with variety of wildlife.
