About the Position: The incumbent manages archaeological, cultural, and historical resource programs necessary for compliance with environmental laws, regulations and Executive Orders.

Employee is responsible for performing required inventories, evaluations and determining the significance of archeological resources on federal projects.
Prepares statements of work, costs estimates, requests for proposals and research designs for cultural resource studies or services to be conducted by contractors for the Government.
Plans, conducts and oversees archeological work requiring knowledge of professional archeological principles, theories, concepts, methods and techniques.
Serves as lead Archeologist/Cultural Resource Specialist on assigned projects.
Performs literature, library, and file research to compile existing environmental, anthropological, Native American, paleontological, geological, and archeological information.
Contacts Indian tribes to gather information regarding Indian treaty rights, traditional cultural properties, and concerns.
25% or less – Business travel required 10% of the time.
