Summary
These positions are located in the Pacific Northwest Region, Region 6 and in the Eastern Region, Region 9.
The position serves as the advisor to the Forest Supervisor and Line Officers for matters relating to Heritage, overseeing a diverse professional staff across the forest, and providing professional leadership, guidance, and expertise in historic preservation and cultural resource management.

Duties
Coordinate, consult, and negotiate with tribes on forest issues of cultural values, traditional uses, and confidential data that are frequently sensitive and controversial.
Develop procedures, goals, and priorities for a highly diverse and complex heritage program on two forests and a national grassland.
Coordinate with the Regional Office and advise Forest Supervisors, District Rangers, and forest leadership teams on the requirements, impacts, and consequences of current legislation and directives affecting cultural resource management.
Provide professional and technical guidance to district and zoned archaeologists.
Coordinate with the State Historic Preservation Office, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and other federal and state agencies regarding cultural resource issues, activities, and programs.
