We have an immediate need for Archeologists, preferably applicants who are a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or have qualifications that meet the requirements to become an RPA.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The preferred applicant is responsible for technical direction and cultural resource management support to meet a myriad of client and project needs. Serves as a key team member managing cultural resources tasks, leading and supporting cultural resource surveys, impacts analysis, Phase II evaluations and Phase III data recovery excavations. Shows extensive experience in conducting cultural resources field work and the analysis and preparation of cultural resources technical documentation supporting CEQA/NEPA documents, AB 52 consultation, SB 18 Consultation, and Section 106 consultation. Familiarity with cultural resources data collection procedures, interpretation, analysis, and document preparation. Must have knowledge of the history and prehistory of southern California, understand laboratory analysis procedures, and be able to supervise and mentor staff in field tasks, desktop tasks, and laboratory procedures.
Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Archaeology/Historic Preservation/Architectural History or closely related field required. At least 5 years local experience and ability to perform in technical lead role.
