Phase I/II Projects – Maryland and Virginia
Applied Archaeology and History Associates, Inc. (AAHA), a small, woman-owned cultural resources consulting firm located in Crofton, Maryland, has immediate openings for archaeological field technicians for upcoming projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Fieldwork anticipated to begin 8/22/22 and continue throughout the field season on a project-to-project basis.
A standard 40-hour work week (Mon – Fri) can be expected.
Lodging and per diem provided for out-of-town hires.
Wages $16-18/hour commensurate with experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum B.A./B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
- Previous field experience in CRM project environments
- Possess a working knowledge of standard excavation methods, demonstrate attention to detail and be able to maintain accurate field records
- Be able to traverse overgrown areas and/or difficult terrain with up to 40 lbs. of equipment
- Be able to work consistently in open spaces under variable weather conditions, lift five gallon-sized buckets of soil
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and a cell phone.
- Ability to use verbal and written communication to listen, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with crew members and supervisory staff
