SWCA’s Corporate Office in Phoenix offers a unique work environment specializing in delivering natural and cultural resources services across Arizona and beyond. Our Cultural Resources Team is looking for temporary on-call archaeological field technicians to assist with upcoming cultural resources management work across Arizona, including surveys, monitoring and data recovery excavations.

Responsibilities Successful candidates will assist with conducting archaeological fieldwork (including pedestrian survey, site identification, site recording / data collection, monitoring and data recovery excavations) to support our Phoenix office. There may also be opportunities to support our other AZ offices as the need arises.
Qualifications
· Minimum 6 months of experience in CRM, including a range of field methodologies (survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring) preferred
· An accredited Field School Certification is required; field schools focusing on North American archaeological methods and cultural resources management is preferred
· Technical writing skills, including demonstrated experience preparing technical reports in a CRM context is a plus, but not required
· Ability to be listed on state and federal cultural resource permits is a plus, but not required
· Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, often at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required
· Experience collecting field data utilizing modern mobile technology (tablets, bluetooth GPS receivers, mobile software) is a plus
· Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· Consideration for full-time employment will be extended to successful candidates contingent upon performance and office needs
· Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background screening.

The candidate hired for this position will be assigned to work with an SWCA client, which requires mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Candidates applying for this role should be willing to comply with this requirement.
