Deschutes National Forest Seasonal Archaeology Positions
Applications for 2023 seasonal Archaeological Technician positions on the Deschutes National Forest will be accepted between September 29th and October 6th, 2022 on USAJOBS (https://www.usajobs.gov/). The Deschutes NF will be hiring at the GS-07 level on the Bend-Fort Rock, Crescent, and Sisters Districts and at the GS-06 level at the Bend-Fort Rock District. The anticipated start date ranges from late April to early June 2023 with a flexible end date that depends, in part, on candidate availability. Most tours go through September and may extend into October or November. These are temporary/seasonal archaeological field technician positions with a maximum six-month tour schedule (Not to Exceed 1039 hours). Positions are full-time (40 hours/week) and most crews work 10-hour days Monday through Thursday.
Government housing may be available at the Crescent and Sisters Ranger Districts. Government housing is not available at the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District.
