Logan Simpson has an immediate need for temporary Archaeological Field Technicians for archaeological survey projects in Utah, managed out of our Salt Lake City office.
The ideal candidate will have a B.A. or M.A. in Anthropology, completed archaeological field school, and possess experience conducting fieldwork in a cultural resource management setting within the Great Basin.
Individuals must be able to survey in remote locations and walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain, while carrying a pack weighing up to 45 pounds. Individuals must also be capable of conducting a cultural resources pedestrian survey, which includes: operating a handheld GPS unit; identifying archaeological artifacts and features; documenting archaeological artifacts and features in written notes and on tablet computers; and camping in remote locations for up to eight days in a row. Ability to work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors is a must! All field personnel must be willing to abide by any COVID-19 safety precautions, including social distancing and wearing face masks.
