Southwest Archaeological Consultants, Inc., a cultural resource management firm based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is actively seeking to fill Field Archaeologist positions for an excavation project in northwestern New Mexico. The 14-week long project entails the excavation of two sites containing Basketmaker III/ Pueblo I residential components. Both sites are buried in sand dunes, so the initial sessions of fieldwork will entail exploratory testing and trenching. Note that applicants must be able to begin by May 12 to be considered for a position.
At a minimum, qualified individuals must have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and must have completed an archaeological field school. Based on an individual’s experience and qualifications, the hourly pay rate varies from $16.00 to $19.00. Per diem is $45; accommodations (single occupancy) provided in Grants, New Mexico. The project is on an 8/6 schedule, each field session being 8 days long (10 hour days). No lodging or per diem provided during intersession breaks.
