Archaeological Crew Chief
The Department of Research and Collections of Historic St. Mary’s City seeks to hire an archaeological crew chief to assist with excavations of the Leonard Calvert House archaeological site. This individual will work under the supervision of the Leonard Calvert House Site Director.
Qualifications: B.A. in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or related field and 3 years of field experience. The position requires that the candidate has completed an archaeological field school or equivalent experience and coursework. Experience with colonial period sites is essential, and the ability to identify and process precolonial and colonial artifacts is required. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
This is a limited term full-time contingent position with no benefits provided and is dependent on Maryland State budgetary funding. With a salary of $21.00/hourly.
