Duties
Archeological Technicians perform uncomplicated technical archeological tasks. Work is typically associated with and supportive of a professional field; may involve substantial elements of the work of the professional field, but requires less than full knowledge of the field involved. You will report to a specialist or resources manager in the same or a related field.
Incumbent is responsible for conducting archeological resource site condition assessments and surveys under the supervision of the park cultural resource specialist, as well as assisting with a variety of other cultural and natural resource projects including wildlife surveys, cultural landscape clearing, and photo archiving. Incumbent is expected to work both independently and as a member of a team/field crew. Utilizes GIS, GPS, and a variety of computer programs to collect, analyze, archive, and report data. It is essential that the incumbent has a good attitude and a strong willingness to assist with a variety of resource tasks, both in the field and in the office.
