Scientific Consultant Services, Inc. (SCS Archaeology) is currently accepting applications for the position of Archaeologist for fieldwork on the island of Oahu and also Maui. We aim to hire on-island to support our local economy. Relocation is not provided. This will be a full-time position, benefits available after qualifying period of work. Our goal is to hire someone seeking to remain in the Hawaii workforce.
Applicants possessing a B.A. degree or higher in anthropology (specialization in archaeology) will be considered. Candidates with 2+ years of fieldwork experience are preferred. Should possess familiarity of the nuances of Hawaii-based archaeology to properly curate, identify and document items encountered, soil layers, features, plan views, profiles, and other field techniques. Concise attention to detail and communication are key.
Time and task management will be essential skills. Work will necessitate dividing time between concurrent projects. A valid driver’s license and your own insured automobile is required. Applicant should be to be able to perform their work independently, or in a team with co-workers/other personnel encountered on the job. Applicants must be legally documented to work within the United States. There may be infrequent travel to other Hawaiian islands.
