Apogee Environmental & Archaeological, Inc. is seeking an Archaeological Field Director to be based remotely in the eastern United States. Work will take place primarily in NC, VA, WV, KY, or PA. Temporary hires interested in summer work only are also encouraged to apply.
Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fieldwork supervision, results dissemination, and assisting with technical report preparation. Experience with ESRI and basic knowledge of GIS mapping is a plus. Pay rate is $23/hr – $26/hr depending on experience and education. Master’s degree is not required, but internal advancement is possible for SOI Qualified/RPA-eligible applicants. Please see required qualifications below.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related field
· Completion of an accredited archaeology field school
· 3+ years of field experience in the eastern United States
· Supervisory field experience (min. 6 months)
· Experience with a variety of GPS devices and software
· Valid driver’s license
