Field Archaeologist Monitor Full-Time | Oregon
Salary Range: $23-33.61 per hour depending on experience.

Our highly successful team of resource professionals provides environmental planning, permitting, and compliance services for a variety of clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with environmental compliance reviews
- Conducting cultural resource surveys, monitoring, and inventory
- Conducting archaeological testing and excavation
- Recording sites and isolates and drafting associated reports and site forms
- Performing archaeological monitoring during construction activities to ensure resource protection measures are being implemented
- Acting as crew member or Field Director/Crew Chief on fieldwork assignments
- Assisting in conducting literature reviews and records searches
- Work will primarily be field based; successful applicants should be capable of working long days in the field throughout the year, including single- and multi-day assignments
Skills and Requirements:
- B.S. degree (M.S. preferred) in archaeology or other closely related field
- Proficiency in prehistoric and/or historic archaeology in applicable state(s) and region
- Proficiency in report writing and site form preparation in applicable state(s) and region
- Minimum of 1-year professional experience in archaeological fieldwork to include site recordation, survey, and excavation
- Proficiency with standard field equipment and technology
- Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently with short deadlines, as well as working in a team setting
- Ability to interact and coordinate with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies
- Organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy
- Reliable personal vehicle, excellent navigational skills, and a good driving record
Experience in the following is preferred:
- Proficiency with sub-meter GPS
- Permitted or permittable in applicable state(s) and on agency lands (Field Director, Crew Chief, Principal Investigator)
- Previous NHPA, NEPA, FERC, and/or other cultural or environmental trainings
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with typical transmission or electrical utility operations and maintenance activities
- Familiarity with compliance inspection contracting for large projects
- Familiarity with ESRI GIS applications (including desktop, ArcGIS, Collector, Survey123, etc.)
- Experience driving a four-wheel drive vehicle off-road or in rough terrain
- Experience working around heavy machinery and communicating with field and construction crews
