Summary
This position is located on the Ouachita National Forest, Oklahoma Ranger District with a duty station of Broken Bow or Hodgen, OK. Location will be determined at time of hire.
This position is located on a Forest Service unit and is responsible for providing technical support to the heritage resources staff.

Responsibilities
Duties listed are at the full performance level (GS-07).
Analyze archeological data in preparing reports, for situations where precedents are not fully applicable.
Compile and report information about the nature and extent of known cultural resources.
Review work in progress to ensure compliance in all aspects of cultural policies and standards.
Conduct inventories of cultural resources.
Adapt ground search strategies as determined by specific project requirements i.e., terrain, vegetation cover, and time frames.
Insure that archeology work assignments are carried out in safe, timely manner according to established standards and procedures.
Research State and National register files.
Research historical documents.
Research archeological reports.
Research maps and aerial photos.
Provide written instructions, research materials and supplies to all involved in planning and operation of natural resource activities.
Prepare Cultural Resource Inventory reports and site forms.
Provide written instruction, research material and supplies to all involved natural resource activities.

Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.
