Summary
Position(s) are located on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Duty station(s) will be located in Duncan, AZ and Springerville, AZ.
Serves as the Archeologist for the Clifton Ranger District and Springerville Ranger District and oversees a dynamic recreation program responsible for inventory, advising heritage and cultural resources.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities listed are at the full performance level.
Perform archeological inventory and prehistoric cultural resources relative to the culture areas.
Document cultural resource information related to site types, artifacts, and features.
Determine eligibility of historical properties for the National Register of Historic Places.
Lead seasonal crews if necessary providing for crew safety and competency in survey and field recording.
Enter project and site data into appropriate heritage databases.
Provide advice on identification and management orientation to personnel.
Interpret heritage and cultural resources to the public and professional contacts through presentations at visitors facilities, professional journals, etc.
Write and edit cultural resource technical reports.
Supervises 20% or less of the time at the GS-09 level only. At the GS-07 level, second-line supervisor will retain supervision.
Travel Required
25% or less – Travel maybe required for field visits, training and meetings away from duty station.
